Frequently Asked Questions
General Information
Where is Xiuwen Xinhongbin Agricultural & Botanical Park located?
The park is located in Fangmaping, Xiuwen County, Guiyang (near Chaoyang Village), approximately a 50-minute drive from downtown Guiyang via the Guiyang-Zunyi Expressway. Search for "Xiuwen Xinhongbin Agricultural & Botanical Park" on your navigation app for exact directions. Free parking is available on-site, and day trips are perfectly feasible.
What are the park hours? Is it open year-round?
The park is open year-round, from 08:00 to 23:30. The butterfly conservatory is currently in planning. Spring (March–May) is the planned peak butterfly season; for now, the park centers on forest and nature exploration. We recommend calling ahead or booking online to confirm the day's arrangements.
How do I get to the park from downtown Guiyang? Is there public transportation?
Driving is the most convenient option — approximately 50 minutes via the Guiyang-Zunyi Expressway. Free parking is available on-site. If using public transit, take a bus to Xiuwen County town, then transfer to a local taxi or ride-hailing service to Fangmaping (approximately 1 hour total). For carpooling or shuttle arrangements, please contact our customer service team in advance.
How do I make a reservation? How can I get in touch?
You can reach us by phone at 13595559289 (Manager Song) or 15085280564 (Ms. Chen). For corporate retreats, weddings, and educational field trips, we recommend booking 7–15 days in advance to allow time for custom planning and scheduling. Individual and family visits: 2–3 days' notice is suggested.
Butterflies & Nature Education
Can I see live butterflies at the park? When will the butterfly conservatory open?
The butterfly conservatory is currently in the planning and construction phase and is not yet open for live butterfly displays. The park currently centers on forest exploration, plant science, and nature art experiences. Once the conservatory opens, it will introduce species such as Common Mormon, Cabbage White, and Chinese Peacock, with host plants like citrus and prickly ash supporting a full life-cycle observation experience.
What nature education programs do you offer? What age groups are they suitable for?
Planned programs include: Nature Exploration Camp, Specimen Workshop, and Family Nature Season Package (butterfly-related programs will open as the conservatory is built). Programs are designed for ages 3–14, with content tailored to each age group. For detailed course length, age suitability, and current pricing, please check the course details page or contact us in advance.
Can school groups visit for field trips? Do you have educational accreditation?
Yes, the park welcomes school groups, PTA-organized trips, and other institutional visits. We offer field-trip programs covering nature, plant science, and forest ecology (butterfly-themed programs planned). For accreditation documentation, please contact our customer service team for the latest certification information. We recommend school groups book at least 7 days in advance so we can prepare a tailored curriculum.
When is the best season to see butterflies? Can I visit in winter?
Spring (March–May) is planned as the peak butterfly season and the period of our future Butterfly Season events. The conservatory, once opened, will be climate-controlled and open year-round. For now, each season has its own charm: forest play in summer, harvest activities in autumn, fireside tea in winter — there is always something to experience.
Corporate Retreats
Is the park suitable for corporate team building? What is the typical per-person budget?
Absolutely. We offer forest treasure hunts, camping retreats, fireside tea ceremonies, woodland team challenges, and more. Per-person budgets range from ¥150 to ¥680, and the venue can accommodate groups of 10–100 people. At roughly 50 minutes from downtown Guiyang, same-day round trips are the norm — no overnight stay required. Minimum group sizes and specific pricing: please contact us for details.
How is a retreat here different from a typical farm stay?
Three core differences: First, our native forest and open lawns provide an immersive natural backdrop that no other venue can replicate. Second, our Miao-inspired herbal Bamboo Basket Feast anchors the dining experience with a depth of culture and ritual far beyond ordinary farm catering. Third, we offer multi-venue combinations — forest + outdoor lawn + indoor hall — to suit teams of any size and style, with fully customizable programming and event design. (Butterfly conservatory planned.)
How far in advance should we book? Can you issue an official invoice?
We recommend booking 5–7 days ahead; for peak holiday periods, 2 weeks or more is advisable. Official invoices (fapiao) are available, and contract signing is straightforward. For custom retreat planning, we offer complimentary on-site preview visits for groups of 20 or more.
Wedding Photography
What wedding photography scenes does the park offer?
Our signature settings: forest backgrounds (classic woodland aesthetic), floral pathways (romantic garden trails), red maple lawn (open lawn), and the tented ceremony area (intimate outdoor rituals). These settings support bridal portraits, engagement photos, couple sessions, and small outdoor ceremonies. (Butterfly conservatory planned as a future addition.)
How does wedding photography partnership work?
We collaborate with Guiyang-based wedding studios on either a venue-hire or revenue-share basis. Interested studios and independent photographers are welcome to contact us for a partnership proposal and rate card. Site visits are encouraged before committing.
Bamboo Basket Feast Dining
What is the Bamboo Basket Feast? How much does it cost per person?
The Bamboo Basket Feast is a traditional Zhuang banquet served on large woven bamboo trays lined with banana leaves. Each table receives one basket laden with an array of dishes. Per-person pricing ranges from ¥168 to ¥388 depending on the menu tier. Signature dishes include clay-pot free-range chicken soup, cured meat platters, Congjiang field fish, and local specialties.
Do I need to book in advance? What is the minimum group size?
Yes, group dining requires advance booking. Please contact us with your party size and preferred date so we can prepare accordingly. The restaurant can seat up to 200 guests at once. Specific menu details and current pricing will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Is there an entry fee?

The park features 15 themed zones including the planned butterfly conservatory, botanical exhibition hall, plant maze, herb garden, forest trails, children's play area, fishing pond, camping grounds, and an ethnic restaurant.
